What it is
Commanders' Log initially started as a way to share our in-game exploits and screenshots with each other, and to allow a smattering of roleplay. It has grown into a sort of ongoing online companion serial to the game; following the in-game storylines and also what we ourselves get up to in the game.
We want it to be like an online comic, which is split into seasons but onging, with persistent characters who drop in and out.
Nearly all the entries in Commanders' Log are 'found records', meaning that they look like letters, documents, transcriptions etc rather than standard third-person fiction. Some entries take the form of police reports, ship audio transcriptions, even the text from the comms panel in game. The exception to this is each season's Prologue, which can take the form of regular third-person fiction.
Structure
The home screen is a standard blog - latest entry at the top, so that a reader who is dipping in can catch up quickly. The entries are called chapters, broken into seasons, which last as long as we want them to.
The whole thing is obviously collaborative and anything can be changed but best discuss any structural changes you want to make on this forum in advance.
