Hmm. I'm not getting anything on my phone, even in desktop mode. You sure it uploaded? Sounds intriguing but absent...

Weird, definitely uploaded. I can see it on the PC, not on my phone though.

Oh yes, the black and white sea snake. I'm not sure if there's such a thing as an 'explorer snake' though.

Back on topic, I have found this scale idea interesting and have done a little research into comparative (similar) sizes, here are a few for interest:
(Elite Ship - Real World comparison)
Sidewinder - Learjet private aircraft Imperial Eagle - Airbus A318 small euro-hopper jet Vulture - Airbus A321 standard euro-hopper jet Asp Explorer - Boeing 767 medium intercontinental jet Python / Fer De Lance - Boeing 747 jumbo jet Type 9 - Buckingham Palace Imperial Cutter - Twickenham Stadium

That's amazing. The Star Citizen ships are way smaller.

That's amazing. The Star Citizen ships are way smaller. I think that's because the philosophy of the backstory/RP in Elite is that long distance space flight is the norm, therefore your ship is often your home and you have to have suitable space for habitation, fuel, food storage, water processing and so on. Where as, from the little I know of Star Citizen, capital ships are used for the long hauls and the solo ships are more focused around the short range, therefore don't need the same amount of space.

Aha. Yes most likely.

It's also a bit more "science-y" than SC. For example, each ship has a Nuclear Reactor in it as the power plant. A lot of the scale in elite is based on our current understanding of how small we can make things.

It would likely be neither healthy nor safe, ironically

Back on the scale thing. I would love to try ED through a 3D headset, because the screen doesn't do any justice to the scale and everything feels like a similar size. Imagine being in full 3D as you fly a ship the size of a sports stadium through a letterbox only just big enough to accommodate it or whilst flying around the outside of a space station that is large enough to hold all these ships.

It is apparently stunning in rift. It will probably be the game that makes me get a headset.

Oh, does it already work in 3D? What headset do I need?

More designed for VR. Works with Occulus Rift if you have a good enough rig.
If your monitor is 3d it also supports 3d glasses, but they never work for me.
