Following Rob's post in the Ship Build forum. What is the difference between High Wake and Low Wake? What is he talking about?

High wake is jump to another system.
Low wake is supercruise.
High wake is not affected by mass lock from big ships and is much more useful for running away.

Small point. If you are mass locked then high wake is more useful. But it takes longer to charge the FSD (about 3 times longer). If you're not mass locked, or if you are fast enough to get out of the enemy's gravity well, low wake is the more useful option.

Also, I guess high wake relies on you having somewhere already programmed into your galaxy nav computer?

Yup. Though you can quite easily just pick a random system from the panel.

Left panel, Nav Tab, under all the stuff in the local system it lists the first 20 (I think) systems within jump range.

I'm considering a macro to do that - it's a lot of faff. It's just occurred to me that the filters could be used to make this work - filter to other systems and then pick any one, lock on and frame shift; all in one handy 'panic button'.
