So a discussion thread as to the best way to earn credits in game.
Haz-REZ health & safety: I am currently not power-playing, therefore no bounty bonus: 2.5-5 mil/hour (dependent on spawns and such)
Maia smuggling runs: "Friendly" with Maia factions, trade rank of Broker and about 100 cargo space: 10-15 mil/hour (includes time to get to and from Maia and messing around with the bulletin board).

The general consensus on this seems to be.
1. Bulk trading in Type 9. 2. Long range smuggling. 3. Combat, Haz RES / Comp Nav. 4. Rare trading.
There's some disagreement about the top 2. A really good trade route is slightly more profitable, but takes longer to find. The smuggling stuff you already know where to go, but it's a long trip. For my money smuggling is also more fun.

Cheers dude, in which case I'll do a couple more smuggling runs this week and then maybe some bulk trading (anyone fancy some winged trading as you get mutual profit sharing at the same time?)

I'd like to do some winged trading with you - haven't traded for months.
Rare goods trading isn't in the big league when it comes to earnings, I don't think. You're probably looking at around 2m / h and there is a long warm-up period while you shuttle around filling your hold. It is a fun and interesting way to get to know your way around civilised space though.

I'd like to do some winged trading with you - haven't traded for months. It works well, and the 5% wing bonus really pays off. Also a lot less boring with other people.

The rare trading thing isn't a profitable if you do the grand tour like we did. However, there are a few small hops you can do where you do 3 short hops, pick up rares, then do a long leg to another cluster of, sell up and grab some more rares. That can net you a consistent couple of mil/hr with very little warm up apparently.

Sounds good to me, I'm at training from 19:00 - 21:00 on Friday and I'll have some time with Alyce on Saturday, Training again on Sunday afternoon. But other than that, sounds good to me. Anyone know how to find a good route? Is the one rk was running still viable?

I use EDDB. Set your start point, cargo capacity, available credits and a few other variable and it spits out the most profitable trades based on your paremeters.
You find the very best ones organically though. But it does take a while.

Cheers :-)
I may repurpose my Keelback for this, I assume it has more potential cargo space than the Asp Exp?

Not really. ASP X can get around 80 with sheilas and the keel back around 60. If you're looking at doing bulk trading you really want something with 100T plus. How are you coming with the money for the Python

How are you coming with the money for the Python I think my Asp is at something like 112T cargo space, but I'll have to double-check that. I'm currently at 43mil, so only another 200mil to go (by the time I've accounted for insurance and everything else).

(side note, I like that my phone auto'd that to "sheilas". Got to take them into account) On the subject of the Python you don't need quite as much as you may think, THIS is more or less what I was flying for a long time. It's basically a truly scary trader. Your never gonna take it to a HAZ Res but there's not much you'll run from either.

I'll post my Asp smuggler build and modus operandi this evening. I'll also take a look at that Python build this evening, cheers :-)
