In case you have not been paying attention to the system's opinion polls, we are now level with Empire Pact, a position that they are not finding comfortable and have therefore decided to start a civil war with ourselves.
I was issued with the formal declaration of war this morning, as well as a private note of encouragement from a senior member of the Imperial Senate. It seems that our reputation as staunch Imperialists to the hilt is already preceding us and, apparently, the Pact were more self serving than was good for them.
Now is the time for you to earn your pay and prove to me why I let Commander Souvarine talk me into hiring you all. I expect this war to be won in less time than it takes The Federation to rig an election. You will fight with honour and know that, though they carry the name "Empire", the Pact are an embarrassment and surely embarrass the Empress.
