So I've been thinking about what Vex is going to do in season 3. Personally I want to go exploring the bubble a bit; visit the engineers - upgrade the Vindicta and generally sample the new missions that are available.
As always I think the log should follow (roughly) what my character is doing.
So I got thinking - given Vex and Sou's very public bust up it would not be the end of the world if Vex did take some time out. He's going to - temporally - renounce Arissa and go nomadic.
Over the course of this walk about there are going to be brief, IPEC intelligence reports written from an un-named source which will appear regularly in the log. Over the course of season 3 it is going to become apparent that these reports are in fact coming from Vex. At some appropriate point there will be a flash back to a meeting between Vex and the Octopus, which has taken place at about our current point in the timeline. In it they will discuss their history and Vex and Sou's falling out. The Octopus will venture the idea that since it is known that to IPEC's enemies that Vex has had a falling out with IPEC, it could be used to IPEC's advantage. He can travel without their affiliation hanging over his head, and pick up information that other agents may not.
The intelligence reports will allow us to insert a bit of flavor into the log too, mentioning news articles, local politics and community goals to give a bit of an impression of the larger galaxy.
i would prefer the other members of IPEC not know about this, but I am open to being convinced otherwise.
