Tanith Low
D.O.B. - 17/12/2983
Height - 1.60m
Short and dark skinned with dyed blond hair and an almost permanent playfully mocking smile on her lips, Tanith Low is a young woman used to getting her own way. She is quick, intelligent and – mostly – good natured, though she has a manipulative streak in her which she utilises to get what she wants. Slightly spoiled and from a rich family, money holds little interest for her except as a means to an end. She is an independent spirit and lives very much in the moment.
Tanith is the daughter of Samuel and Tabitha Low. Samuel was a very successful Imperial trader in the latter part of the 3rd Millennium who was killed in the late 2980’s by a pirate gang. Tabitha Low is one of those people for whom status is everything. Conscious of the fact that she is “new money” she has always tried to compensate what she perceives as her shortcoming by conforming to the behaviour of the “ideal wealthy imperil citizen”. In reality this means that she comes off as being pretentious and overly concerned about money. Tanith does not get along with her!
Tanith has always had a way with mechanical items, and loved working on ships. From an early age she formed a friendship with the local ship outfitters and quickly got to the point where she understood more about the ships than the owner. This is “not a suitable hobby for a young lady” as her mother frequently put it, something which only made it appeal to her more and more. By the time she was 13 she was skipping lessons regularly to go and work in the outfitting and repair yard. The side effect of this is that while she has an excellent understanding of practical physics and maths, she is remarkably naïve as far as intergalactic history and politics goes.
She has always been curious about Samuel and the life he led. The life of an intergalactic trader, living on the edge, dodging pirates and hiring former slaves as ruthless bodyguards seems completely at odds with the life she and her mother lead, and sounds a lot more exciting. As she has grown the same wonder lust that must have compelled her father has taken hold in her and she has started looking for any way off planet. She want to find out more about her father, and as far as she knows the best person to tell her should be the afore mentioned ruthless slave - Dexter Vex.
