So you've run out of inventory space? (by CMDR Jgm) You will sooner or later reach the point where you need to discard some of your inventory. The question is: what do you throw out? Here is some information that might help you make your decisions. Materials : There are three materials that have no known use by engineers - Tellurium Basic Conductors Salvaged Alloys In addition, Galvanising Alloys, Phase Alloys and Proto Light Alloys are only used for lightweight mounts for weapons so if you aren't planning on using those these are also good candidates to get rid of. If you need to remove even more, then Worn Shield Emitters are only used for grade 1 recipes. Data: Rejoice, for there is much that can be discarded. The data that have no known use are - Abnormal Compact Emissions Data Anomalous Bulk Scan Cata Classified Scan Databanks Classified Scan Fragment Divergent Scan Data Eccentric Hyperspace Trajectories Open Symmetric Keys Peculiar Shield Frequency Data Unidentified Scan Archives Tagged Encryption Codes are used for the grade 1 FSD interdictor long range modification. If this isn't on your burning list of upgrades you could discard it. Decoded Emission Data appears to turn up all the time but is only used for grade 4 and 5 clean drive tuning. Why? Why would you put so many useless types of materials and data in the game?
edit - Thanks T. Good shout.

Half the engineers are still undiscovered due too long chains of engineer introductions at sufficient levels. This may be why so many are useless so far.

Thanks for this list though - very useful

Tellurium is rare enough to be worth keeping. If you have loads of materials for light weapon mounts, go to the dweller and make them. That's how I got an introduction to the engineer who does top grade shields and boosters.

Cheers! I am hoping that, after this trip, I'll have enough exploration data to max out my rank with the FSD engineer.

Ten mil for Felicity Farseer, twenty for Martuuk. Or so I hear. But 1.5 mil gets you a comfortable rank 3.5-4

If I get plenty of planetary data in my little dune buggy, I should be close to there :-)

I heard 5m for Felicity. Al-pocalypse collecting materials in your dune buggy helps your exploration rank, but it doesn't give you any more exploration data to sell. Only using the Discovery Scanner and Detailed Surface Scanner do that.
