Hi all
I thought I'd chuck this up as there are now more writers and there are a lot of story arcs happening simultaneously, and it might be helpful for you guys to know where Souvarine will be at given points throughout the season.
The numbered points below don't necessarily correlate to a blog post each - some could be merged or broken up. But they indicate the general sequence of events.

At present he is deep in the Formidine Rift and has crashed his Anaconda. He can fly (just about) but half the ship is depressurised and locked down.
Next log: Souvarine does EVA to assess the damage, and decides to press on across the Rift.
2. He reaches the far side of the Rift, whereupon he receives a message from the Octopus telling him that the Hirapa Empire League have expanded into the Sticks. She wants him to come back and meet them to assess their aims.
3. He returns. This will probably be quite boring, so I'll mention the Galnet developments about the Federation projecting power in the Pleaides. General hand-wringing about escalating tensions.
4. He arrives in the Sticks, and takes his Anaconda to be repaired at a chop shop called Voracious Dave's. This has featured before. This log is told as a diary entry from Dave himself, allowing some humourous observations about Souvarine's character from someone completely different to him. "Some dandy called Souvarine stopped by today," sort of thing.
5. He goes to meet the Hirapa Empire League (haven't decided where their office is yet - one of the big cities) and discovers that Felixa Vasse, a potential romantic interest, has been sent to administrate their operations in the Sticks. This post is dialogue-heavy. Vasse tells Sou that it is widely suspected that IPEC have taken control through nefarious means, and that she suspects the Octopus has a man inside the Inquisition. The HEL have expanded to monitor the situation - many Senators are deeply concerned by an upstart corporation rising to power so quickly. Sou is now conflicted. "Is this true? Why wouldn't the Octopus tell me?"
6. He confronts the Octopus. She admits that RK is her undercover agent in the Inquisition, and that IPEC's rise to power has been at least in part due to their blessing. She tells him that Ronnie didn't actually retire from the White Navy, but was actually transferred to a secretive division called the 9th Legion who are deeply loyal to the Emperor. Having him as a link to the Inquisition and the 9th Legion has been of enormous use to her. Souvarine has a little revelation along the lines of 'Now I know how Vex feels when I tell him only half the story'. (It would be good if this fell immediately after Tanith meets the mysterious Inquisition agent that turns out to be RK)
7. Sou is annoyed that the Octopus didn't tell him. RK is absent, as usual. Now just riffing: this might present an opportunity to weave Heathen into this story arc. Souvarine researches the 9th Legion, finds out about Malakudi, flies there and docks at LHS. He meets Heathen who tells him all about the 9th.
8. Sou comes back to the Sticks. Tanith and Matty arrive, tell Sou that Vex is dead and that Matty killed him with her help. It is revealed that the Octopus issued the kill order.
9. Souvarine is distraught and furious. Barges into the Octagon, loses it at the Octopus. "What did you gain? You threw his life away, and for what?" sort of recriminations.
10. Calms down, ultimately understands but feels sick with world-weariness. Leaves the Sticks to take Vex' last recordings to the Spirograph Nebula to bury them. Useless symbolism perhaps, but there's nothing else to bury and Sou is torn up that they parted on bad terms. A nice note for the end of Season Three.

I don't mean to dictate the timeline to anyone - just thought I'd share so you know what I have in mind. Does this sequence of events suit everyone? Points 7 and 8 are very fluid and really anything could happen - happy to take suggestions here.
