Hello!
I thought I'd fill you in on what I'm up to ref Commanders' Log.
I've already laid out what Souvarine's going to get up to for the rest of Season Three in another thread. But a lot of the stuff I'll be publishing while he's gone dark will be other stuff that doesn't seem connected.
Sou's origins memoir will be going up periodically over the next few weeks, while I'm out skirting the rim (that sounds filthy). The memoir is going to a) tell the reader where Sou comes from and a bit about why he is the way he is, b) develop the concept and morality of slavery in the Elite universe and c) serve as a backstory for a character called Etiene Denain who is going to pop up in Season Four and feature heavily in my plan for Souvarine in that season.
Here is Denain:

I'm setting Denain and the Twin Candles up as a possible threat that IPEC could face in the future. He is ardently anti-slavery and has dedicated his life to change through revolution - thus, he could potentially be an enemy for us Empire-aligned folk (if you felt so inclined). The Twin Candles is the sort of outfit that some people call terrorists and others call freedom fighters.
There is also a plan hatched amongst the Children of Raxxla for the Twin Candles to be involved with the colonisation around Jaques Station. He'll be calling for slaves to be freed there, etc. Whether this takes off or not is yet to be seen.
