I just don't love the FAS. It's just a bit, well, bland. Thing is it is the right tool for undermining. Or is it?

I'm looking at replacing this

I had a clipper in the past and really liked it. Swapped it for the python so I could land on outposts.

This Clipper is nearly 100 m/s faster than the FAS - that's blisteringly quick. It also refuels much faster, and has longer jump range, and so will be easier for the long range stuff. The other core essentials for an underminer / alpha strike fighter - Interdictor and firepower - are the same.

Clipper looks the better ship for this.

Your current FAS build is almost identical to mine, so there's also a diversity argument to switching.

From a roleplay angle, there's also something slightly pleasing about rocking up in enemy territory in a giant boat normally used for ferrying dignitaries around!
