Ok guys, forget those plasma accelerators... it's time to discuss MINING BUILDS! As per Al's request... Here is my mining Keelback.

Tom, have you found the ideal number of limpets to load up with for this build?

Slightly depends on what you're mining for. If you're strip mining (not recommended) you only need ten or twelve limpets.
If you're being more selective you should go out with 2/3 of your cargo capacity filled with limpets. This is because you'll expend most of them prospecting. If you're in luck and you have a run of good asteroids you can always jettison the extra limpets to make room for the goodies. However, if you're not finding many good asteroids, you'll be happy you brought so many limpets as you can carry on prospecting.

I can vouch this works. I discovered this through hours of scientific experimentation.
And then in frustration I said "Tom, have you found the ideal number of limpets to load up with?".
Man knows what he's talking about when it comes to mining.

I want to try this now. You make mining sound fun!

It's not! Seriously I found it a nice change of pace. Since I am currently in the process of spending my hard earned cash on a variety of "cheap" ships, I may get a mining keelback.

Mining Keelbacks are clearly this season's must-have accessory
I don't want to be held accountable when you all spend hours kitting out a mining ship only to discover that mining is actually pretty dull!

Well that was freaking epic in a way I was not expecting. I now also have a mining Keelback. Don't know what to call it though. Starting another thread on that topic.

Well that was freaking epic in a way I was not expecting. Once even did a ska cover of that song in a band at uni, fortunately there are no recordings. I have found a local system with a planet that has a metallic ring, though I cannot remember it's name without the galaxy map, something like "Catayama".

You're looking for Pristine Metallic rings. Pristine = abundance, metallic = composition. Here's my Keelback soundtrack: youtu.be/ejorQVy3m8EYeah. Throttle-slappingly good.

That's the badger! And regarding "pristine", I was too lazy to look look for long, I literally checked my galaxy map for systems I already had info on that were within a jump of Sticks. I'll probably do a bit more of a deep investigation when I have some hours to kill.
